– Hey everybody. In this video, I'm gonna
show you a drum fill that sounds a lot more
complex than it actually is. And, this is what it sounds like. (upbeat drumming music) All right, so what we have to do in order to make this feel
a little more accessible is divide the pattern up
between our two hands. Our right hand plays a basic beat. (rhythmic drumming music) And, if you don't know
how to play a basic beat I suggest you check out
this video over here in which I explain my pad
layout and basic beat.
Um, so you play the basic
beat and then you go one, two, three, four,
(drumming music) one, two, three, four, one. Okay, so first I'm gonna
show you what pads to hit and then I'm gonna tell you where you have to start
playing to fill in the bar. The pads are these. High tom and then the hi-hat in the kick. Middle tom, hi-hat in the snare. Low tom, and the hi-hat in the kick again. And, this is the one of the next bar. (drumming music) One, two, three, four, one, two, two, four, one.
(drumming music) All right, and now let's check out where we start the fill, right? We start the fill on the two E. One E, two E, three E, four E, one E, two E, three E, four E, one. And, when you can play that
we can bring in our left hand. And, the only thing I do with my left hand is play soft close notes on the snare in between every right hand hit. (drumming music) That's it. (drumming music) We can also play louder. Right? It's awesome.
It takes some coordination,
but anybody can do this and it sounds very, very
advanced and virtuoso. Well, I hope this helped. I hope to see you again
