[Music] let's go [Music] hey kids it's mr dj here from the jam cats are you guys ready check it out i have another new instrument it's a drum right it's a gen bae drum can you say gem bay that's right now this gem bay drum is really cool you know why because first off it has a tribal pattern it's called tribal it looks like it's from the jungle almost right see this green and white black gray orange red awesome colors awesome pattern now this drum is made by a company named remo can you say remo they make awesome music products for kids and adults now this particular drum has a name all right hold on i'm not going to tell you yet let's just check it out first what is the part of the drum called that you hit this point this part this part what what it's called the head remember everybody say head you hit the head that's right it says so easy now this head is black see that awesome i love this now this head is a pre-tuned flip top this this top comes right off now it's pre-tuned that means that you don't have to do anything to it there's no tuning pegs nothing you just sit down take it out of the box let's play sounds great right now and something else very cool is this shell this is called the shell of the drum right this shell is recycled it's recycled products synthetically made recycled products so cool right another thing about this drum listen to it it's not that crazy loud if kids aren't norotypical this is a perfect drum okay because it doesn't have crazy overtones sounds awesome let's go all right now let's get to it don't forget my groove the beat i call it the beat or the groove whatever you go like this hit the middle that's the low note everybody say hello now i'm hitting it with my thumb you can hit with your hand low or your thumb low the edge of the drum is the high note say hi right sounds good you can hit it with all your fingers i like hitting these little drums with just my finger like this let's go let's count it one two three four one two three four sounds so good right let's do the boom top you ready them knows the boom boom top [Music] you can play with this hand you can play with this hand whatever works right play with both hands play fast boom top make up your own groove [Music] i love this groove sounds great right all right today i want to show you a new thing i don't know if i've showed you this it's something called a flam everybody say flam damn it's so easy and it sounds cool phlegm flame flam okay here's what you do you just hit one note or one hand before the other like this just a little bit i'm going this one first and that's not quite the flame if you go like this that's not a flame they got to be close together like this or you can hit this hand first see that flam you can do this side or this side put notes in between [Music] you can even do it with the low note and the high [Music] okay now let's do some rhythm talk are you ready everybody say rhythm talk that's when we play some rhythms and we talk and use words all right let's do some vegetables who likes vegetables i have a good one check this one out we're going to do something called a swing pattern everybody say swing it goes like this [Music] we're going to say green peppers green peppers green pepper green peppers what about red red peppers red peppers switch hands pink peppers pink peppers red peppers yellow peppers well that one doesn't work it's ready yellow peppers that's a shuffle yellow peppers yellow peppers go that's just jam do you know how to jam just play whatever you want let's go now this drum i told you i was going to tell you the name of it are you ready yeah it's called a festival drum can you say festival festival it's a big word festival gem day drum by remo all right kids i'll see you next time with the jam cats see you later kids thanks for coming everyone say goodbye with your nose nose nose say goodbye with your toes toes toes say goodbye with your two elbows say goodbye say goodbye say goodbye say goodbye with your lips lips lips sing goodbye with your hips hips hips with a really big kiss say goodbye say goodbye say goodbye [Music] say goodbye [Music] that's fun
