First attempt Takosaba – Dununba rhythm – Fanka in Trouble!

I also don't like just play anyhow can so how?
you all think can perform or not? (sigh….) (I can)
difficult la! (Nonsense Mode: ON) so! everything on already? on already ya?
ya so now we play Takosaba eh I want to swear I was just about to say eh I want to play Kenkeni come la I've a feeling I'll regret this Takosaba…..! Takosaba it's a collective Dununba dance meaning, Dunungbe which is the simplest of all Dununba rhythms, right usually it's danced by individuals
like the chauffe and all that collective Dununba dance – it refers to Dununba rhythms where the structure is fixed when the lead djembe player starts to play the chauffe the chauffe cycle is fixed as well I'll show the Sangban pattern first see, there are 2 parts to it
the first part, just play it like this it's a 3-bar pattern 3rd bar is the most basic one ok wait ya but don't repeat that
cuz there's a 2nd segment Kenkeni and djembe (parts) same so your bell I suggest follow that (Sangban) bell yes please y'all (Djembe 1 + Kenkeni) start first anytime imma have a resting bitch face during the whole video because I just need to focus on the Sangban over and over again wait we change songs ah just play anyhow can let's change to another song I think it will fit play again basically when you play, right it's a conversation with Sangban so if use her (Sangban) as a reference
it's actually easier to remember I also don't like you think I like? don't want (to converse with you) Dununba rhythms like Takosaba
and many other similar (rhythms) it's basically like a language it's not something where I (can) just
allocate them the parts before tell them to memorize and
they can use their musical experience and apply it as an emsemble
right away it's something that we need to
sit together to be familiar with the rhythms
inter-playing with one another so it's just like a language we need to keep speaking it together
in a group to slowly get used to it see I don't understand the space at the start if you think of no I cannot count like that ya
like this la, correct oh like that la
count (it's difficult to) count like that
I don't know how to start you think I know? so if you count in
if you base on that bell, right based on that bell, right
it's actually 6 bells in 1 bar, right her (Sangban)'s bell
not my bell 6 of her (Sangban)'s bell, right when you come in
it's on her 5th bell I don't want to
I don't understand I don't want
don't tell me that Takosaba means "3 steps" so in the Dununba dance the Dununba dancer in the village
will dance in a structure of 3 steps that goes according to the Dunun cycle so you see
even when I'm explaining this it sounds confusing, right? and that's the challenging part so there's that pause there in the beginning? no no will there be a pause or
is it like "3-3-3-3"? ok at the end
it's not a pause but I'm gonna explain now because you have to understand
what's the next part then you'll understand how to come in oh there's a nnnnext paaarrrttt…..

The next segment I got say…. so that's the 1st segment ok 2nd segment
it's a 2-bar pattern this is similar to
Dunungbe the end of the chauffe for Dunungbe but instead of going straight to there's a eh look here la I got distracted now 1st sgement and 2nd segment that means a 3-bar
and then this these 2 bars are like a coda start from the 1st segment you don't stop there
just add 1 more bell as a triplet-in-2 flow you missed 1 empty bell why?
like, whywhywhy (x100) after BAM
straight away back to the cycle cycle from the top again I think I have always been a fan
of the Kenkeni it's my first love
it's the very first Dunun that I've played I can't wait to perform it this song is not easy for the………

djembe but……! as first time playing
I think we did not bad… and we'll see how it goesss……. >___< you cannot miss any of the part once you miss
the whole cycle will crumble the problem is I cannot hear
her (Sangban) once everybody is playing sorry no cure so how?
y'all think cannot perform or not? (SIGH…….) (I can)
difficult la… but I can 😉 I mean it's the rhythm of the strong men
I'm the strong man no you're strong Mah-n
(his name Helman is pronounced as hell-mah-n) rhythm of the strong Mah-n ❤ ❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤ then you must put my number.
